Profile of Professor Baishali Champaty Karmakar
Professor Baishali Champaty Karmakar married Prabir Karmakar in 1997 and had two daughters. Since Karmakar Institute of Yoga was established in 1984, as the President she has been one of the main teachers in the Institute and hosted many Teacher Training Courses.
Professor Baishali has over 20 years teaching experience and has trained quite a number of Champions of Champions in many yoga competitions. Suijit Kumar won the Champion of Champions for four consecutive years since 2000 under Basishali's intensive training and he is teaching in Yoga Yoga Hong Kong since 2008.

Professor Basishali started yoga in early childhood. During her acquaintance with Swami Yoga Nanda Ji Maharaj, she was very impressed and inspired by his yoga teaching. Since then, yoga became her life and she obtained many qualifications such as Diploma in Gosh College of Physical Education, Diploma in Physiotherapy from Kolkata University.
Under the guidience of her Guru, Dr.Prem Sundar Das of World Yoga Society, she obtained Yoga Therapy diploma form Yoga College of India Calcutta and professorship from World Yoga Society in 1991 and 1994 respectively.
Seba is selfless service. Professor Baishali did her Seba by helping the drug addicts to rebuild themselves in de-addition center for 3 years and giving yoga therapy to the patients in Nursing Homes and Clinics for 15 years. There is one Seba which she will never give up is to teach yoga in many community centers in Jamshepur.
